Here is your quick and easy guide to building a safe Thanksgiving plate for your dog straight from your own holiday meal!!! πŸ¦ƒπŸΎ

Your pup can absolutely enjoy a special plate with you as long as you pick the right ingredients and prep them safely. I went over all of this on Good Morning Texas today, but here are the basics:

YES to:
β€’ White turkey meat (no skin, no seasoning)
β€’ Sweet potato
β€’ Pumpkin or squash
β€’ Carrots
β€’ Celery
β€’ Blueberries (a few only)
β€’ Quinoa or oats (clean grain option)
β€’ Flaxseed meal (about 1 teaspoon per 10 pounds)

NO to:
β€’ Turkey skin
β€’ Bones
β€’ Seasonings
β€’ Onions
β€’ Corn & Green Beans (in one end out the other veggies can aggravate tummies!)
β€’ Casseroles ir desserts
β€’ Gravy
β€’ Butter-heavy dishes
β€’ Anything salty, spicy, or creamy

A few important reminders!!!
β€’ Cut everything into appropriate bite-size pieces.
β€’ Add a clean grain like quinoa or oats for balanced digestion.
β€’ Add flaxseed meal for fiber and omegas.
β€’ This holiday plate should replace their dinner, not be added on top of it.
β€’ Keep servings modest to avoid tummy trouble.

This is such a fun tradition and such an easy way to include your dog without risking the ER or a carpet disaster. Save this guide and feel free to share it with anyone cooking for their pups this week!!!

Happy Fursgiving!!! πŸ’–πŸΆβœ¨
