Because Halloween fun should absolutely include your dog. It’s one part social outing, one part enrichment, and a whole lot of joy. Here’s how to do it.
1. Pack the Goods
Make about 8 to 10 small treat bags using your dog’s favorite snacks. We love our Chicken Crack and jerky bites. Keep them small and sealed for easy sharing.
2. Dress Up
Pick a costume for your dog and for yourself if you want to join in. Comfort and cuteness are key.
3. Bring a Pail
Your dog deserves their own trick or treat bucket. It makes for the best photos and gets people excited to participate.
4. Choose Your Spot
Find a walkable, dog friendly area with storefronts, patios, or hotels. Downtown strips are perfect.
5. Invite Friends
Everything is better with friends. Invite a few dog buddies and make it a group event. The more pups, the more fun reactions you’ll get.
6. Ask Away
Here’s the magic part. You can ask literally anyone to give your dog a treat. Valets, desk clerks, bystanders, shop staff. Don’t be shy. People love a reason to obsess over a cute dog in costume and will happily drop one of your pre packed treats into the pail.
7. Make a Day of It
Stop for lunch at a dog friendly café or pack a spooky barkuterie with your favorite Baking Lab recipes. Take pictures, enjoy the weather, and soak in the smiles.
8. End with Treats and Snuggles
Once you’re home, let your dog enjoy their treats while you relax and relive the fun.
✨ Try it once and it might just become your favorite fall tradition.
